Vintage Computers & Electronics<\/h4>\n

The purpose of this SIG is\u00a0 to preserve and restore vintage computer technology.\u00a0 Starting at the moment with micro-computers.\u00a0 This also includes accessories, software, and documentation for the machines.<\/p>\n

The eventual goal is to establish a permanent “museum” type display of computer history.\u00a0 Donations may be made through FCW and designated for the Computer Museum.\u00a0 We are especially interested in unusual processors (eg Alpha, Itanium, HPPA) or less common machines..\u00a0 Hardware may be donated, leased, or loaned to the group.<\/p>\n

Also included is some vintage electronics.\u00a0 At the moment, interest is mainly in vintage radios (both 2-way and receivers), telephones, and electronic test equipment.\u00a0 Other items may be considered if unique.<\/p>\n

Ham Radio – K4FCW<\/h4>\n

K4FCW is the FCW Amateur Radio station.\u00a0 This SIG is for anyone interested in Ham Radio, whether or not they\u00a0 have a license.\u00a0 Topics include station setup, operation, contesting, building and repairing equipment, restoring vintage radios, and antennas.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 License classes will be conducted or a one-on-one technique can help someone obtain a license.<\/p>\n

Robotics<\/h4>\n

This SIG is for anyone interested in robots and automation.\u00a0 This includes the electrical,\u00a0 mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; robot construction, control, and\u00a0 programming.<\/p>\n

IoT<\/h4>\n

This SIG concentrates on Internet of Things projects.\u00a0 It is primarily an electronics and programming group.<\/p>\n

Cosplay\/Stagecraft\/Steampunk<\/h4>\n

This SIG covers the areas needed for Cosplay, Steampunk, and Stagecraft.\u00a0 The areas of interest include costumes, props, sets, special effects, artistic design, sound, lighting, and video.<\/p>\n

Linux\/Unix<\/h4>\n

This SIG concerns Linux and other Unix-like systems.\u00a0 Areas of interest include distributions, installing, shells, utilities, applications, and administration.<\/p>\n

Programming Languages<\/h4>\n

This SIG is for those interested in various computer programming languages, both old and current.\u00a0 Examples include Basic, Fortran, Cobol, Lisp, C, Pascal, Java, Javascript, PHP, lua, Perl, Forth, Scratch, etc.\u00a0 Topics discussed include history, syntax, applications, and usage.<\/p>\n

CNC<\/h4>\n

This SIG is for those wanting to build or modify CNC devices such as Mills, 3d Printers, laser cutters, etc.\u00a0 Topics include controllers, drives, hardware, software, G-code, and control.<\/p>\n
