Programmable Heat Treating Furnace<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n

Here are two additional items donated by Corning.\u00a0 The first is a programmable Heat Treating Furnace.\u00a0 Along with the Hardness Tester, previously donated to the Science Area, this gives FCW a start on manipulating hardness of steel fabrications.<\/p>\n

The second item is a RAM EDM.\u00a0 For those not familiar with \"\"<\/a>Electrical Discharge Machining, this machine literally burns holes in metal using electrodes.\u00a0 It is possible to create blind holes of odd shapes, or even create threaded holes in stainless steel.<\/p>\n

Both units need some cleaning and wiring.\u00a0 We have the materials, so it is just a matter of time (hopefully short) before they are on-line.\u00a0 Again, many thanks to Corning for the donation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
